Terms
Temporary terms for Operon and the Stantal-AI website.
These terms cover current access to the Operon desktop product, downloads, accounts, and related website services while formal commercial terms are still being finalized.
Temporary legal notice
This page is a temporary policy for the current Operon launch phase and is subject to change as the product, pricing, integrations, and company operations evolve.
Effective date: March 31, 2026
1. Scope
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Stantal-AI website, Operon desktop downloads, related documentation, and any hosted account, entitlement, billing, or support features we make available.
Operon is described throughout the site as a local-first desktop application. Some product features may still be incomplete, in beta, or not yet generally available.
2. Temporary Status
These terms are temporary and subject to change as the product matures. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
If we make a material change, we will update the effective date on this page and may also provide notice through the website, product, or your account.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
You may use the services only if you can form a binding agreement and you comply with applicable law. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, login credentials, and any local installations of Operon.
You agree to provide accurate account information and to use your account only for yourself or your organization's authorized internal use.
4. Acceptable Use
You may not use the services to:
- Violate law, regulations, contracts, or the rights of others.
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or data.
- Interfere with the website, download infrastructure, licensing flows, or related security controls.
- Use the services to develop or distribute malware, spam, phishing, fraudulent content, or abusive automation.
- Misrepresent AI-generated work as fully verified human output where review would reasonably be required.
5. AI Features and User Responsibility
Operon may generate summaries, drafts, classifications, research notes, recommendations, and workflow suggestions. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for a particular situation.
You remain responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them, sending them, or using them in academic, professional, legal, medical, financial, employment, or other high-stakes contexts.
Nothing in the service is a substitute for your own judgment or for professional advice where required.
6. Billing, Downloads, and Licenses
Pricing, entitlements, download availability, and billing workflows may change during this temporary phase. Some purchase or portal features may be visible before they are fully live.
Unless separate written terms say otherwise, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Operon for your own internal business or personal productivity purposes.
You may not resell, sublicense, reverse engineer except where prohibited by law, or use Operon to provide a competing hosted service.
7. Intellectual Property
The website, Operon software, branding, documentation, and related materials are owned by Stantal-AI or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
You retain rights in content you submit or process using the product, subject to any rights needed for us and our service providers to operate, secure, and support the services.
8. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these terms, created security risk, exposed us or others to liability, or used the service in a harmful or abusive way.
You may stop using the service at any time. Termination does not limit rights or obligations that by their nature should survive termination.
9. Disclaimers and Liability Limits
The services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis during this temporary phase. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stantal-AI will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, goodwill, data, or business interruption arising from or related to the services.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim related to the services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the services in the 12 months before the claim or $100 USD.
10. Governing Terms and Contact
If you have questions about these temporary terms, use the contact page. We may later replace these terms with more detailed commercial, enterprise, or product-specific agreements.
